Amanda Overstreet identified as the body found in Pinyon Ave. January

The human head and hands that were discovered in January by the new owner of a home that had just been sold at 2988 Pinyon Avenue have been brought to the attention of the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.

Amanda Leariel Overstreet, a resident of both the Grand Junction and Harris County, Texas areas, has been identified as the person who was killed in the homicide scenario that occurred on Pinyon Avenue, according to the authorities.

It was believed that Overstreet was approximately 16 years old at the time of her disappearance; she had not been seen or heard from since April 2005. Overstreet was the biological daughter of the previous homeowner. As far as the authorities are concerned, there is no evidence that she was ever reported missing.

According to a statement released by the office of the coroner, the remaining parts of her body have not been found as of yet.

In a press release, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office stated that “the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain under investigation,” and that forensic testing of the material is still taking place.
